OBJECTIVES:

At the conclusion of this course the student will be able to

  • Describe the fundamentals of TCP/IP

  • Operate and perform basic configuration of Apache and DNS services
  • Operate and perform basic configuration of sendmail
  • Install, configure and manage XFree86, XDM, and X applications
  • Install and customize a window manager
  • Configure TCP wrappers, host security and user-level security
Prerequisite: It is recommended that students should complete Linux+ certification or possess equivalent knowledge prior to taking LPI level 1. Content covered in Linux+ classes will not be covered in LPI level 1.
